
Türkiye’s Pine Honey earns protected status – and global attention
Thick, dark and rich in minerals, Türkiye’s pine honey, known as Türk Çam Balı, has recently earned national protection through a geographic indication (GI), recognizing its unique origin and quality. Unlike flower honey, pine honey gets its distinctive woody flavor from bees collecting honeydew from Marchalina hellenica insects on pine trees. Produced mainly along Türkiye’s coastal regions, this honey is now officially celebrated for its authenticity.
