From green refrigeration technologies and smarter logistics to digital monitoring and innovative business models, sustainable cold chain innovations offer opportunities to preserve food quality, improve operational performance and reduce environmental impacts. But how can sustainable cold chain innovations create greater value and what makes them worth investing in? This E-Dialogue will explore the barriers to investment and adoption, and will look at what is needed to turn promising innovations into viable and scalable solutions.
Register here to join us on 29 October 2026, 14:00–15:00 CEST, for the seventh E-Dialogue, “Investing in sustainable cold chains.” The discussion will look at which commercially available and emerging cold chain solutions can help preserve food quality, use resources more efficiently and keep food safe throughout the value chain, and how digital tools can support traceability and better decisions across storage, transport and retail.
The discussion will bring together academics, technology innovators, producers, logistics operators and retailers to explore where sustainable cold chain solutions can deliver value across agrifood value chains, alongside the costs, infrastructure needs and capacity constraints that influence investment and wider uptake.
This E-Dialogue is part of the EBRD-FAO ACES Innovation Series, jointly organized by the EBRD and FAO under the Agrifood Climate and Environmental Sustainability (ACES) Initiative.
Join us for a forward-looking discussion connecting innovation, investment and impact!
